Donations

The Gisborne YMCA is a charitable trust and donations are recognised by Inland Revenue.

Although we are able to generate much of our income from fees we need a reasonable level of donations to survive. Some of our programmes, particularly in the youth area, can never recover the full costs without creating a major financial barrier to participation. We also subsidise many individual participants or families where they cannot afford the full fee but would benefit from the activity. They pay what they can and the balance comes from our donations funds. 

If you wish to assist the YMCA with financial support there are several ways you can do it.

• You can send a donation to us at YMCA, Gisborne. Corner Childers & Roebuck Roads, Gisborne
• Sign up a bank AP with regular payments from your bank at the amounts and interval you choose. We can supply forms.
• You can email us on leighg@ymcagisborne.org.nz or ring the YMCA on 06 867 2522 and discuss your possible support with us. Ask for the Chief Executive Officer if reception is unable to help. If  she is not there you can leave a message on her voice mail and we will get back to you.

For those who decide to help, thanks very much on behalf of those who benefit from our charitable work - centres such as the Te Ohokanga o Te Ora (Tokomaru Bay facility) and our camping, youth programmes.
